3 BIGGEST REASONS WHY PEOPLE FAIL AT RECRUITING IN NETWORK MARKETING
Have you heard before that, in network marketing we get paid to do one thing, and one thing only.
This one thing will determine your success and paycheck and that is communicating with people.
There are many, many things that people could do to be better recruiters in network marketing but I wanted to share the 3 biggest reasons why I see people fail at recruiting in today’s post.
Network marketing is a business of communication, with marketing blended into it.
Being a mentor to many in the field of network marketing, I get to talk to a lot of network marketers that are wanting to make it big in network marketing but perhaps not seeing the results they want to see.
And after studying most distributors, I discovered there is a pattern that I saw that developed with people who were struggling with their network marketing recruiting, which usually is the majority of folks.
So here they are, the 3 Biggest Reasons Why People Fail At Recruiting in Network Marketing.
1. Not talking to the right people.
Some people says “I have talked to xx number of people, and nothing is happening, so that means I can’t recruit because this doesn’t work.” Again..NOT!
Too many distributors spend too much time, with too many people, who have too little of an interest.
Can you imagine someone that said that he talked to a lot of prospects, and in reality he only talked to a few people who have little or no interest.
Talk to a lot of different people and do qualify them to know whether they are interested in your opportunities before spending a whole lot of your time with them by asking them qualifying questions.
They waste massive amounts of time on the wrong person trying to recruit him.
That is what most distributors do when recruiting and continue to do.
They talk to the wrong people, at times get them registered and then bring in the wrong people, and then have a downline of mostly wrong people.
Who are the right people?
People who light up and catch fire when you show them your opportunity, and then light other’s up when they talk.
Not someone who complains after only 2 days because the application is the wrong color.
Or the wrong size. Or the upline is not doing enough to welcome them aboard. 2 phone calls is not enough. You know the type.
To attract the right prospect for your opportunity, you must be the right one yourself.
You must be the person you want to attract into your opportunity through self development and training.
2. They fail to operate in an attractive manner that others could envision themselves doing.
Said shorter, they say too much!
If you talk to people in a non-chalant way that is NOT salesy, you are much more appealing and have a much greater chance of long term network marketing success.
You can act as an inviter, not an explainer, trainer or presenter.
If you are new and you spend more than 5 minutes talking to someone about your opportunity, you are probably saying too much!
You want to invite your prospects to listen in on a company conference call, or, invite them to watch a company DVD or online video but you are not trying to close them.
Some people have diarrhea of the mouth.
And they talk, and talk, and they talk, and then talk.
And talk, and talk, and by the time they finish, the prospects finished.
Don’t dump on people! Create a recruiting environment.
That creates the prospect to do most of the talking.
Ask a lot of questions. Listen a lot of minutes. Ask a lot of questions.
Because questioning is selling.
If you are going to be a hot network marketing recruiter, you must connect with your prospect!
And the best way to do that is to become an audience of one.
And ask a lot of magnetic questions… and watch an explosion occur in your network marketing recruiting.
3. Lack of proper network marketing recruiting training.
There’s a lot of network companies out there and some have great training but unfortunately, some don’t.
If your company doesn’t have the proper training that you need, then seek out network marketing professionals that you can learn from.
Even if you are an experienced business owner with a brick-and-mortar business or you have experience in sales, you will probably learn very quickly that network marketing is different than most traditional businesses out there.
As we know, success leaves clues, and many of those clues can be found in principles like the ones listed here.
So when you take the time to develop the necessary skills, you greatly increase the odds of your recruiting success.
