COLD MARKET PROSPECTING: HOW TO PROSPECT STRANGERS.
There are quite a few critics who say cold marketing is dead.
And if you’ve ever been rudely hung up on during a prospecting call, you might be inclined to say this is true.
Cold market prospecting can be effective if only you do it in a certain way!
Are you wondering how you should invite people you don’t know to take a look at your network marketing business?
If you’ve been trying to figure out how to do cold market prospecting, then this training is for you.
In this training, I’m going to share exactly how you should talk to your cold market about your business.
WHAT IS COLD MARKETING PROSPECTING?
You have two markets, there is a warm market and a cold market.
If you don’t know what those mean don’t worry, we will look at them right away.
Your warm market can be termed as your friends and family or people you know personally and knows you too.
These are the people you most likely will hit up when you first get started with your business, which I think you should absolutely do.
This is an excellent way to get your business off the ground fast since these people already know you.
But you should keep in mind that you do not NEED anyone’s approval of what you are doing.
Many at times people in your warm market will be your biggest dream stealers.
They will tell you what you are doing is a scam, they will question you on why you are doing what you are doing.
Don’t be bothered about that! It’s cool…
Just know you don’t NEED anyone to build your business and they don’t have to approve of what you are doing.
At the end of the day, they are not paying your bills and they are not standing there looking at you in the mirror.
Then you have your COLD MARKET, and these are the individuals who have no clue of who you are.
You all have never met or seen each other.
You run into these people every single day.
There are way more people out here that you do not know than you do know.
So learning some cold marketing prospecting skills is a fantastic way to build your business offline.
Cold marketing prospecting is simply talking to someone you do not know (Cold Market) and finding out if there is need for your product or service.
You need to have the mindset that you have the answer (your network marketing business) to whatever problem they tell you about.
It is cold market prospecting when you make a call when the prospect is not expecting to hear from you.
There is no need to fear cold market prospecting when you think of every call as an opportunity.
After every call, focus on what you did right.
Still, you want to ensure you are in a quiet place. You might even choose to stand to get your blood flowing and to give you more energy.
In terms of effective cold market prospecting, your job is to get their attention so that they are focused on what you have to offer.
Then, let them talk and listen actively.
Prospects want someone who will listen to their problems first. So, that is exactly what you must do.
WHY COLD MARKET PROSPECTING?
There are two ways to building your network marketing business, it could be, online or offline.
As a beginner, I’d suggest that you should use both.

They do share one thing in common though, you will need to pick up the phone to do it.
This is a relationship business so picking up the phone and talking to leads you’ve generated online or following up with someone you met is critical if you want any type of success.
Here are a few reasons why I think everyone building a network marketing business should be doing cold prospect marketing.
There are way more people that you don’t know than you do know.
Even if you are sponsoring everyone in your warm market (which likely won’t happen), you are going to run out of people to talk to.
You are going to be out and about living your life anyway, why not do some prospecting and see if you can help someone out.
You never know, your opportunity could be the very thing that person is looking for.
You can teach your team how to do cold market prospecting.
And if all your team mates can do cold market prospecting well, that’s a boom!
DON’T DO THIS IN COLD MARKET PROSPECTING!
I know, you want to tell the world that you have the best products and the best compensation plan. But don’t do it.
Think of it like this, how would you feel if someone walked up to you in the grocery store and said, “Hi, my name is (insert name), would you be interested in joining my business? We have the best products, best compensation plan, etc.”
Now, I don’t know about you, but if someone came up to me saying this, I would probably just walk away.
Don’t be this person. It’s not effective, and it does not work.
You never want to pitch someone your business in the first meeting, not online or offline immediately. That’s not the time or the place to do it.
HERE’S THE COLD MARKET PROSPECTING FORMULA.
STEP1: GIVE THEM A SINCERE COMPLIMENT.
When you’ve found something about someone that you can compliment them on, compliment them and what happened is that they are going to like you because you have said something nice about them.
You know what, you can pick anything.
Just say, ‘Hey, I love your shoes, where did you get those?’
If it were a lady, I could say, ‘Hi, those shoes are awesome, nice shoes you are putting on, where did you get them?’
And I will be smiling as an asking them these questions. Am having fun.
‘Wow, I love those shoes, where did you get them, my mama will love those?’
And get this, if you are talking to a female, mention your wife, or girlfriend or even your sisters.
And if it were male, mention your husband, your dad or brothers.
But giving them a sincere compliment will get them to like you more because you’ve said something nice about them.
And causally, I will just ask, ‘What do you do for living?’
Am just being curious about them and am just going to ask questions about them.
‘What do you do for living?’ ‘How long have you been in the job?’
Whatever the answer is, some usually might say 2,5, or even 10 years.
And I will say, ‘Wow, you must really love this for doing it that long.’
And am actually looking for the case where they will say, ‘Huuuuh….not really so much, am looking for something else or Bla Bla……’
You know at that point, I know that I have got them.
And then am going to say, “Let me ask you this question, do you keep your income options open?”
And they’re going to say yes, they are going to say no and they’re going to say what it is and they are going to say whatever.
At that point am going to say, “You know what, am in a hurry, I don’t have the time to get through things right now but listen I work with a company that’s spreading like crazy we can bring people fast enough and I can come show you anything maybe it might be a perfect fit for you. Hey, what’s your number and I will give you a call in the next couple days so we can have coffee”
So, very simple but never ask someone if you can have their number, ‘Hey, can I have your number?’
If you asking those kinds of questions, then they will think, there must be a reason why I shouldn’t if you are asking me if I should.
People loves to be led, lead them, “You know what, real quick, what’s your number, I will put it on my phone, I will call you in a couple days so we can have coffee.”
You are telling them what’s going to happen.
You see, take control, lead people and they will follow.
