In today’s training, I share how to boost your network marketing productivity when working at home.
As for solopreneurs, working at home definitely has its perks.
Some which includes, you really don’t have to worry about traffic or commuting.
There’s no supervisor, or boss that you have to report to and your office is where you want to make it – in most cases your home.
But, it does have its challenges which includes the lack of interaction with workmates, not being able to disengage from work as regularly, what about the many distractions and temptations that come from working at home?
This can make it difficult for an entrepreneur to concentrate and maintain a steady level of productivity when working at home.
When I first started in network marketing, I was practically non-existent to my friends and family.
I would work more than 100 hour weeks and barely have any time to spend even on myself.
After some time doing this business, I’ve developed a schedule and some best practices that I follow to make sure that I get everything done – and have plenty of time to spend with my family and doing the things I love most.
Here are some of my tips to help boost your network marketing productivity and focus throughout the day in your home office – and believe me, they are all tried, true and tested!
1. LIMIT YOUR TIME ON THE INTERNET.
Limit your time on the Internet.
Instead of getting sucked into the vortex of the Internet by endlessly surfing when you should be working, disconnect and deal with your email offline.
If you need to be on the Internet to accomplish your work, be strict with yourself to avoid getting distracted.
2. PLAN THE NEXT DAY BEFORE YOU SLEEP EVERY NIGHT.
Every night before you go to bed, write out what you want to get done for your network marketing business the next day.
I will advise you to put a star next to the 3 most important things that you want to get done, more than anything.
You might even want to keep your list next to your bed at night, so that if you think of something during your sleep, you can roll over, write it down and then go right back to sleep.
Then the next day, do the things that you wrote out on your list.

In this way, if some distractions now get in your way during the day, then at LEAST you would have done the most important things, and you can still say you had a productive day in your network marketing business.
I know personally, that for me, the nights that I write out what I want to get done the next day, I always have a productive day in my network marketing business, but the nights that I don’t do this simple little task, then I almost always do not have a productive day.
Can I tell you something, as a home business owner, it is easier to get distracted when you sit down to work on your network marketing business at home.
There are some things that will pump up in your day, that at first glance you might think are distractions, but they are not.
For example, caring for someone in your family (like a sick child, or aging parent or grandparent), or going to your child’s soccer game or school event.
Those are good things for you to be doing. They are Life events that give our lives meaning and purpose. And these things are things that should be scheduled into your day.
The distractions I’m talking about are things that come up during the time you’ve set aside to work your home business. Distractions like: taking phone calls unrelated to business during your business hours, checking email, going through Facebook or other social media (unless it’s specifically to message people for prospecting), doing the laundry, walking the dog, feeding the dog etc
All those “distractions” can be taken care of during the day, but don’t do it during the hours you’ve set aside for your business.
3. SPEND A LITTLE MONEY WHERE IT COUNTS MOST.
Working from home implicitly means you’re a knowledge worker.
That means you spend a lot of time sitting.
No matter what else you do, invest in a good computer, a good phone, and the most comfortable and economically correct chair you can find.
When you’re uncomfortable, it’s hard to stay focused and productive.
Feel free to economize on other things.
I have a desk, and a chair where I work.
Just see your desk and your chair as an investment, not an expense.
4. SCHEDULE BREAKS.
Your calendar may be full of tasks, calls, meetings, deadlines, but it also should include scheduled break periods.
Set a time for lunch. Set break times.
Otherwise, your day will get away from you — and so will your opportunities to recharge.
And also plan how you will recharge: a meal, a snack, a quick walk, etc.
Remember: The best recovery is active recovery.
5. IF YOU NEED HELP, ASK FOR IT
Enlist help if you need it.
If you find that you have too much work for one person and your productivity levels are slipping, ask friends or family for temporary help until you can regain control of your schedule.
There you have it, those are my few tips to boost your network marketing productivity when working at home.
Remember this; everything boils down to self-discipline and making sure that you work smarter and not harder, so you can make the most out of your work day and enjoy the benefits of working at home – it’s not for everyone.
