We all love our companies. We love our products, otherwise we wouldn’t use and recommend them.
We love our compensation plan, otherwise we wouldn’t have joined in the first place.
And that’s great, but sometimes we are so excited about all the great things we have in our hands, that when we talk to our prospects, instead of asking questions and listening to find out what their needs and wants are, we can’t stop hammering them with all the details we know.
We talk about the products, the company, the owners, the compensation plan, the chemical formulas, we almost talk about everything….. Bla bla bla…..
The more we know, the more we say.
And if you talk more, you talk wrong.
And we end up wondering why people don’t join our network marketing opportunity after we told them so many great and exciting things.
A number of bad things happen when you give away all the details about your network marketing opportunity:
You kill curiosity. Why would that prospect ever watch a video or come to a meeting when you already gave them all the details?
It sounds like you’re desperate and trying to convince them.
Not everyone cares about all the details.
You talking 10 minutes about a subject they don’t care about will just bore them to death.
That’s why they don’t answer the phone anymore.
Look at this scenario, think about the last time you watched a preview to a movie. What is the point of a preview?

Well, they give you just enough information to peak your curiosity and get you really wanting to see it. Am I right?
Now what if during that same preview, they gave away the ending of the movie? Would you be as apt to want to see it? Probably not!
Now, think about that same concept when it comes to marketing on social media.
If someone knows what product you’re using or what company you’re with, you’ve just given them the ending of the movie.
So instead of reaching out to you for information, they’ll just reach out to google and do their own research and this is NOT what you want to happen and it’s definitely not smart or clever marketing.
A big mistake that I see many people make is constantly mentioning the name of the mlm company they’re with and throwing up pictures of their products.
What happens when you do this, is it raises resistance and does more harm than good.
Let’s take the health and wellness industry for example.
I see a lot of companies who have some type of shake they offer.
Then, what happens next is consultants will begin putting up pictures of the shake and begin talking about how awesome it is.
I’ve seen many with the company name written on the cup they’re using, or reps who may put up a picture of the shake in it’s packaging which clearly shows exactly what it is.
When you do this, know that you have lost every ounce of curiosity!
Everything you do is an example to your prospects of what it is like to be in the business.
So while you’re talking, they’re asking themselves if they can do what you are doing.

In order to join you, people need to see themselves able to do the business.
So you see, you are actually sabotaging yourself by talking too much.
Your actions are determining the outcome, and then you can’t figure out why people aren’t joining you.

If you want to create curiosity around your network marketing opportunity, people need to see a few simple steps so that they think – “Yes, I can do this and I must get it done!”
You want to get them saying – “Pleasetell me more!” so it is important that you create curiosity around your opportunity.
If you’re on social media, you can start by NOT blasting out the name of your company and spamming people with your company link.
Unfortunately, too many think this is the right way to use social media for MLM marketing.
It’s not much different than creating an environment where you’re not welcome at the family picnic if you do that, says one of my friends.
Whether in person or in social media, I would start with finding more about the prospect.
What about them, their life, or their desires and needs would cause you to believe they would be curious about your business?
You get there through dialogue. Asking questions.
Once you find out what their seeds of discomfort or need might be, you could follow up with something like this:
“Do you at all keep your options open in terms of making any money outside of what you are currently doing with your ————————? If not, no big deal. “
First, you’re asking them if they are open minded.
Do you know anybody who says they want to be closed minded?

Second, you end with “no big deal.” Takes the pressure off and lets them know they are totally in control of how to proceed.
When they say yes to getting more information, invite the prospect to take a look at a 3 minute video to see if what you have might be fit for them.
Don’t explain anything, that’s what the video is for.
Ask them to watch it, get a commitment and a time-frame and then follow-up.
When they ask for more information, send them another video on the products, the business, or whatever they want to know more about.
Don’t provide the information without scheduling an immediate follow up.

You can create curiosity about your network marketing business by sharing just some of the details about the service, explaining what you like best about the income opportunity, and by asking questions.
Would you like it to be true that the harder you work, the more you’ll earn?
Have you ever dreamed about being in business for yourself?
And others like these related to what you are selling.
By talking about solutions your audience needs, instead of products/science
What your prospect sees in your personal example is that all you do is follow a simple system with a few simple steps. Anyone can send a video, an audio, or invite people to a meeting or a three-way call with a leader, so he concludes he can do it too.
When he joins your network marketing opportunity, teach him how to take the same steps – he already has your example.
