How To Have Success With Cold Market Prospecting.
Someone asked, “My warm market is completely gone, how can I step out of my comfort zone and start meeting people to show my business to, I have tried and tried but it always show completely awkward?”
Have you this kind of question roaming around your head?
I can relate with this kind of question.
Let me tell you a story.
The first time I get into network marketing, I went to show my friends and none of my friends wanted to join me.
I ended up running out of my warm markets.. Your warm markets are your friends, family and acquaintances.
I then tried to go to the cold market. These are the people who don’t know me…
It was an awkward moment each time I tried to talk to people to the extent that I was frustrated.
I was as bad as anyone can possibly be when it comes to contacting people on a cold market.
So, in this training, I want to go through those things that really helped me in cold market prospecting.
Because I figured this out, this is really giving me a level of confidence that anyone who apply what this strategies are, can survive anywhere there is people.
You can drop me in any city in the world where my company does business in, take away all my contacts, take away all my money, take away everything and give me nothing but the knowledge and my skill set and I guarantee you inside of one year, I will be running a successful network marketing business with ever-committed team players that are ready to run a six income yearly Mlm business.
So, how How can you have that kind of confidence?
Well, here is where it came from for me, once I get over the fear, once I get used to been able to do this and I realized that it’s total numbers game.
And there are literally people everywhere, there is leads everywhere.
There’s never a shot of anyone looking to have financial freedom.
There’s never a shot of anyone looking to work from home.
There’s never a shot of anyone who wants to raise their children and send them to good schools.
There’s abundance of people everywhere.
And if I were to give you a job proposal that covers multiple six figures in a year and your job is to work five days a week.
Everyday you have to go out and get ten phone numbers of people who are looking for ways that they can create alternative income streams for themselves, could you go do that?
And you can work whichever time you want, yes, you can work one hour a day, you can wake up and go out to do this and have the rest of the day free, you can also decide to spread it out on the course of hours on the day.
You just have to get ten names and ten numbers and I pay you a six figure income in that year, would you do that?
Almost 90% of the people in the world will say ‘Yes, I am going to go out to do that. I will be willing to break through my comfort zone if I knew the money was there’
This is why I think the leaders are willing to go out and do things like that because they knew and have faith that if they go through the numbers, the result will manifest themselves until they get to that level of income.
And that’s what I want you to have; The faith that if you get good at this, eventually the numbers will work out if you go through enough numbers.
Here is the thing: when you first start going, things are going to be awkward guaranteedly.
It was awkward for me and also for most leaders, but how do you get rid of that awkwardness?
It’s by approaching other people, well the way to get over this awkwardness is just to do it, there’s no way around, you just have to go do it.
And whenever you fear, the only way to get out of this fear is to do that which you fear, don’t try meditating on it, don’t try reading books on it, don’t try to go to seminars on it.
The only way to get out of fear is to go do that which you fear.
But you will have to dissociate yourself from the results.
If you have the attitude that I have to go prospect, I have got to get this names and numbers! Because I have to grow my business.
You will definitely have a kind of a weird energy that will get you excited and that’s really going to attract other people to you exactly.
And here’s the overall attitude you want to have, you want to have fun, be happy, put a smile on all the time and when you smile all the time, that’s attractive to other people.
And when you are smiling all the time, that brings and displays confidence of you to others.
And people will see that you’ve got things going on in your life.
So, be happy and have fun.
Here’s the cold market prospecting formula.
STEP1: GIVE THEM A SINCERE COMPLIMENT.
When you’ve found something about someone that you can compliment them on, compliment them and what happened is that they are going to like you because you have said something nice about them.
You know what, you can pick anything.
Just say, ‘Hey, I love your shoes, where did you get those?’
If it were a lady, I could say, ‘Hi, those shoes are awesome, nice shoes you are putting on, where did you get them?’
And I will be smiling as an asking them these questions. Am having fun.
‘Wow, I love those shoes, where did you get them, my mama will love those?’
And get this, if you are talking to a female, mention your wife, or girlfriend or even your sisters.
And if it were male, mention your husband, your dad or brothers.
But giving them a sincere compliment will get them to like you more because you’ve said something nice about them.
And causally, I will just ask, ‘What do you do for living?’
Am just being curious about them and am just going to ask questions about them.
‘What do you do for living?’ ‘How long have you been in the job?’
Whatever the answer is, some usually might say 2,5, or even 10 years.
And I will say, ‘Wow, you must really love this for doing it that long.’
And am actually looking for the case where they will say, ‘Huuuuh….not really so much, am looking for something else or Bla Bla……’
You know at that point, I know that I have got them.
And then am going to say, “Let me ask you this question, do you keep your income options open?”
And they’re going to say yes, they are going to say no and they’re going to say what it is and they are going to say whatever.
At that point am going to say, “You know what, am in a hurry, I don’t have the time to get through things right now but listen I work with a company that’s spreading like crazy we can bring people fast enough and I can come show you anything maybe it might be a perfect fit for you. Hey, what’s your number and I will give you a call in the next couple days so we can have coffee”
So, very simple but never ask someone if you can have their number, ‘Hey, can I have your number?’
If you asking those kinds of questions, then they will think, there must be a reason why I shouldn’t if you are asking me if I should.
People loves to be led, lead them, “You know what, real quick, what’s your number, I will put it on my phone, I will call you in a couple days so we can have coffee.”
You are telling them what’s going to happen.
You see, take control, lead people and they will follow.
