Naija Marketing Pro, as usual, invited Johnson Emmanuel to her community where we looked at, “HOW TO KNOW WHEN TO QUIT YOUR JOB AND GO FULL TIME IN YOUR BUSINESS.”

Naija Marketing Pro CEO, Ayodeji Oladeji Charles sits down with Johnson Emmanuel, to talk about, ‘HOW TO KNOW WHEN TO QUIT YOUR JOB AND GO FULL TIME IN YOUR BUSINESS.’ In the interview, Johnson Emmanuel, says that, “marketing is about perception of value and shaping the value of your customers so that they can do what you want them to do when you wanted them to do it.”
The following excerpts were gotten from the interview:
AYODEJI OLADEJI CHARLES: Thank you for the time given to us to interview you, the purpose of this interview is to help set the youths free of the situation we found ourselves, so that they can be enlightened that it’s possible for them to take full ownership of their lives.
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I help businesses grow their revenue by helping them generate customers and make consistent sales so that they can grow their revenue super fast using online marketing.
AYODEJI OLADEJI CHARLES: Thank you. Tell us a little bit more about your journey prior to now in the business world.
JOHNSON EMMANUEL: Basically, I have always loved to be a business person, I have done a lot of businesses before and they failed but I didn’t give up, I kept pushing on.
For example, I started my entire businesses with a gift of three thousand five hundred naira and when I got started, things weren’t good at first, some things we did failed, some didn’t even work at all, some worked out extremely well but we pushed through and here we are today and we probably deal with the people all over the world.
AYODEJI OLADEJI CHARLES: As a marketing expert, what do you think marketing is?
JOHNSON EMMANUEL: Marketing is about perception of value and shaping the value of your customers so that they can do what you want them to do when you wanted them to do it.
It’s about giving them the perception that makes them believe that your product is better than your competitors product.
AYODEJI OLADEJI CHARLES: Are there any good business or people make business good?
JOHNSON EMMANUEL: This is a very funny one and tricky somehow.
No business is good and no business is bad but you just want to know that there is demand for your market and feed them with what you’re selling.
To say that a business is bad depends on what you are selling.
Some people go into business because they want to get profit, if you now go to a market that is not profitable, that people are not ready to spend money, you can now say that is a bad market.
So there’s no bad market but there are some market that are not profitable. It depends on what you call bad.
But for me as a person and what I do for my client basically, I always advice them to go to the market where there’s money to be spent.
If we are running a marketing strategies for a company that is not profitable, that is what we do, we will look for a market that has more people to reach but if your sole aim is profit then you don’t want to go to the market where there won’t be people to pay you.
But if your market is profitable, and your system is built up with a good marketing strategy, it can be highly profitable within a short time.
AYODEJI OLADEJI CHARLES: What is the most important asset to a network marketer, entrepreneur and a salesperson?
JOHNSON EMMANUEL: The most important asset to a business owner is marketing and when I say marketing, your marketing must be world solid.
I see most businesses focusing on the shining object in the market place, you want to focus on the account and other things.
Every other things you do on your business takes money away from it, the only thing that gives your business money is marketing.
As a business owner, focus 80% of your resources on marketing because marketing is a critical factor that determines the success or failure of a business.
AYODEJI OLADEJI CHARLES: Oh, that’s true. What is the greatest challenge that you ever faced as an entrepreneur and how were you able to dealt with it?
JOHNSON EMMANUEL: As an entrepreneur, you face challenges everyday.
I have failed multiple times before. I think I’m one person I know who has failed more than anybody else. I have had multiple ‘back to back’ failures in business, life and relationship.
The greatest challenge we faced was when we were trying to enter the international market in 2008 but we overcame that, we had to co-found a company with someone in the US and then we were able to achieve our goals in that aspect.
AYODEJI OLADEJI CHARLES: Wow! What an awesome strategy. How do I know if I were ready to quit my job and go full time in my business?
JOHNSON EMMANUEL: Do not quit until you have done a good leverage on your business that it now earns you two hundred thousand naira monthly on a persistent basis because you have to be financially solid before you can stay in your business.
So if you quit and you have challenges, you may be discouraged to give up in the business.
AYODEJI OLADEJI CHARLES: What are the things one should put in place before quitting his job?
JOHNSON EMMANUEL: The first thing is, you should be sure that you’ll get momentum in the business.
When you have a momentum, you can build on that and get your business running.
When I say a momentum, it could mean that you have established yourself a little so that you can have some finances to take care of yourself when you are building the business.
AYODEJI OLADEJI CHARLES: To you, what is the solution to youth unemployment in Africa?
JOHNSON EMMANUEL: It’s entrepreneurship.
AYODEJI OLADEJI CHARLES: How sir?
JOHNSON EMMANUEL: It’s pretty easy to start a business these days than getting a job.
People have problems all over the world. Solve their problems and get paid for it and then you enter business. It’s simple.
AYODEJI OLADEJI CHARLES: What do you like to do outside of work?
JOHNSON EMMANUEL: I do a lot of hang out. A lot of relaxation and a lot of spiritual activities.
I am a religious person but I am not a Pastor even though I have been asked several times to be ordained but I wouldn’t be ordained for any reason in the world because that’s not my direction of life.
You need to know your call, if you don’t know your call you will help another man fulfil his own call, so you must know your call and stick to it.
AYODEJI OLADEJI CHARLES: What encouragement/words do you have for Naija Marketing Pro Community?
JOHNSON EMMANUEL: Just keep doing what you are doing.
Just keep pushing up, you are going to face challenges, things will be rough and some things may not work.
There are some things you will do and may not work naturally. You will fail many times, keep failing and keep moving forward, never to be discouraged.
The more you fail, the more likely that you will succeed and don’t be afraid to take risk, and to try new things.
Never listen to anyone that says you cannot achieve your dreams. The greatest dreams today are achieved by the people who were doubted in their little beginnings.
Be the best in what you do, deliver value to the people and don’t be all about money, money and money.
Money is a byproduct of value, when you give people value, money will come naturally because people will come to give it to you.
