If you really want to soar in your network marketing business, it is important that you also build your network marketing team.
There is simply no way around it.
Yes, it’s vitally important to grow your own network marketing business, but to reap the reward of residual income you must learn how to inspire your network marketing team to really crush it.
But are you really been leading and coaching your team and it just seems like they’re just not progressing?
If so, here is my best tips on how to lead your network marketing team to network marketing success.
1. FIRST THING FIRST
Lead yourself first then lead others.
You can not lead others if you can not lead yourself.
So what you need to do first is to lead yourself.
Obviously, you have a goal, and you choose network marketing as a vehicle.
When you have a goal and knowing that you need to develop leadership in network marketing, you will work on the following areas:
Attitude, Mindset, Knowledge, Skills, Belief and Lots of action.
Without massive action, your learning will be useless and your team will not follow you because they don’t see any results from you.
As they say, “people follow what you do, not what you say”.
2. THE PRODUCERS
Find your top producers and really devote yourself to them.
You shouldn’t ignore any of your team member, but there’s a good chance that you’ll spot some top team members.
Try to identify at least five of them, and do all you can to help promote them and their efforts.
It could be as simple as giving them a quick call to tell them how proud you are or something like giving them a gift that will help them further themselves even more.
No matter what step you take, find your top team members and develop their skills.
3. BE AN EXEMPLARY LEADER
Lead by example and by truly caring about your team, how? By finding out what there needs really are and helping them meet or satisfy those needs.
Many people who call themselves leaders within the network marketing industry are leading by the wrong example.
You will see them selling dreams that are not realistic, helping your team create realistic and achievable goals helps you build your reputation and your team cohesion which will result in longer retention of those involved.
So if someone wants a million payday within a year, you have to know what they are willing to do to get it and what you can do to help them.
You also have to be willing to help them achieve it or be honest enough to say, not sure how but let us do our best at achieving it and then do your best.
Many people say lead by example but have they lead enough people to know what the best example is, in my experience they haven’t.
Too many people talk the text book but haven’t walked the walk to create the talk.
The best way to lead a team is to practice what you preach.
If you tell your team to do atleast 2 home parties a week then you need to be doing so yourself.
If you say to go to local market events you should be there too.
People lead by example, and there’s a stigma around network marketing being a pyramid scheme.
If your team feels like you are benefiting from all of their work they will be reluctant to contribute.
If they see you doing the same as them they will be way more motivated.
4. DON’T USE FEAR AS A WAY TO MOTIVATE.
Fear of missing out can be a great marketing strategy.
However, if used improperly it’s plain ole manipulation.
Those who use this tactic are usually full of fear themselves.
Most times, using this tactic will cause your network marketing team to set unrealistic goals and timelines.
To make things worse, they usually have absolutely no plan in place to reverse engineer their success.
When this happens their morale and energy will get zapped.
Their frustration could ultimately cause them to quit before they win.
5. DO NOT MANAGE YOUR NETWORK MARKETING TEAM
Management is for employees.
If someone has joined your network marketing team, it is to break free…. not to find a new boss.
Yes, there will be plenty of people who will not work at their business, but that is their problem not yours.
Become a leader and the future leaders will rise to the top.
Don’t be too strict and formal with your rules.
I see many a would be Rock Star leader get this completely wrong.
Building a network marketing team is different from many other business models.
Understand this upfront and you will go far.
These people do not work for you and you are not their boss..PERIOD!!
So, don’t come off bossy or they will leave and find someone else to follow.
You work together.
If anything, you should be serving them.
You should be providing training, direction and inspiration.
The best way to wrap your mind around their role is to think of them like “volunteers”.
That is exactly what they are.
They are “volunteering” to be on your network marketing team.
After all, your job as a leader is to make a difference and change lives.
The only way to do that is to serve humanity.
You serve them.
They don’t serve you.
The leader that provides the most value wins!
6. SET TEAM GOALS
Perhaps the best way to lead your team in network marketing, is to set team goals.
Team goals are important because team sales will fluctuate if there are no goals.
Partner team goals with gratification like an award for the best contributor that helped the achievement of this team goal then you’ve got a great one-two punch that will lead your network marketing team to success.
It’s just not enough for a team leader to lead a team into a pointless direction, you must have goals so that all stakeholders of the team will have one vision to follow.
7. WHAT ARE YOUR STRATEGIC PLANS?
Outline clear strategic paths for your network marketing team members.
Once you and your network marketing team member are clear on the targeted goal.
Help them map out a strategic plan to get there.
This is where many leaders miss it.
They just tell their new teammate to “just go out there and talk to more people at the mall.”
That strategy is devoid of strategy.
There is a lot more to this business than just throwing spaghetti on the wall and hoping that it sticks.
I guarantee you that top earners have a plan and they are working that plan.
You should have one too.
At the end of the day, this is a real business and it takes real strategies to maintain long term success.
