Have you failed before?
You see, I have failed at many things. relationships, money, and businesses.
In today’s episode of our training, I share how I recovered from many failures and how you can too.
I remembered after my service year, I had to move to one of the states in Nigeria (My country)
When I was in the University, I was involved actively in some businesses, and during the service year too, I started up with two small businesses and these businesses were a successful one.
Now, after the service year.
I moved to this State to start a life and possibly expand my business Empire but unfortunately, I lost all the money that I saved both in the University and the money I saved during the service year within a month after getting to this State to the extent that I had to borrow NGN2,000 from someone then to journey back to my parent’s home.
It was not funny at all… Things were hard for me then.
After this experience, I had a sewing machine then, I sold it as a bid to use the money to start a new venture.
So, I started this venture, I had so many sleepless nights trying to make it a success and at the long run, it failed again.
After this experience, I started thinking what life would have for me as I am a kind who never thought about going for any job and this is not because I can’t get a job but I am an unemployable entrepreneur.
At least I graduated with a second class upper division with honours as a microbiologist and I can always get a job because I carry value!
So, after all this experience, I started building my capacity for many months until I stumbled across network marketing and my life never remain the same.
Good Can Came Out of Your Failure
After losing all these, do I forgot to tell you that I lost my 4-years relationship too!
That’s another story for another day.
But something happened… I recorded a dramatic success in my network marketing business to the extent that I started another business from the proceeds gotten from my network marketing business.
I was able to travel rounds so many States with this network marketing business.
Today, due to all these experiences and my aim at seeing a lot of people who are involved in network marketing to get success, I am a network marketer coach.
I have recorded great success within these few years of becoming a coach to the extent that I am much more thrilled to seeing network marketers scaling up than for me getting paid even!
I have also travelled so many States teaching and training network marketing professionals.
The kind of networks that I have been able to build has been phenomenal.
Today, I am so much sure of my tomorrow than today and this is why I will always encourage whosoever still thinking about what to do in life to get started with a lucrative network marketing business opportunity.
Although we have a lot of ponzi schemes that have been bastardized to network marketing business but we still have a lot of lucrative network marketing businesses around and yours is to locate one.
When it comes to your past, there might have been a lot of defeats, today. I appreciate God that I had all those experiences.
This is because I got an idea out of it. I got an idea of where I wanted to spend a lot of my life, hopefully for a very long time.
I got that idea, so to me it was worth it.
It was worth the investment to uncover that experience.
There has never been anyone successful that has had it super fine. I don’t know anyone.
How come you shouldn’t struggle?
How come it’s okay for JK Rowling to be dead broke, rejected over and over and over, but it’s not okay for you to struggle?
Why is it okay for Akin Alabi to be selling fowls in the market of Ibadan and it’s not okay for you to struggle?
Why it’s okay for Eric Worre to struggle when he was growing up and had several failures, but it’s not okay for you to struggle?
Why is it okay for them, not us?
You need to understand, you’re going to struggle.
There’s going to be tough times, there’s going to be challenges.
All successful people had them too. I’ve had them. You’ll have different ones.
Maybe yours will be way worse, I don’t know. The worse they are, the more powerful your story is going to be.
The more powerful you’re going to be able to impact people that maybe I never get to reach.
Knowing that failure is a part of starting any business, be it network marketing or becoming an entrepreneur, what can you do to bounce back? If you’ve made an error as a leader, here are a few ways you can recover from it.
As hard as it can be to see failure as anything other than something to avoid at all costs, it can be a learning experience.
Creating anything is hard, and roadblocks pop up from time to time.
Success or failure doesn’t have to be a binary concept, as long as you learn to separate the failure from who you are as a person.
When you fail, ask yourself what the three biggest lessons you learned were and what you can put in place to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
It is also important to consider the warning signs you might not have listened to fast enough.
The whole premise around failure is that every single entrepreneur is going to fail multiple times, and the successful ones … use failure as a springboard instead of a stop sign
How the successful ones define failure determines how they feel about it – whether they continue taking action or stop dead in their tracks.
Ensure you’re adding value to the world
One of the unifying principles that you’ll find in this world is that, in order to succeed at any endeavor, you have to add an enormous amount of value.
No matter what it is that we’re talking about, success will be fleeting if it lacks a value-added proposition.
Every single person wants to feel like they’re getting value for whatever it is that they’re paying for.
This is also the reason why a person would recommend another person when it comes to business or relationships of any kind. When someone gives you their recommendation, it’s because they feel like they’re adding value to you by doing so.
For example, if you just tasted the most amazing ice cream that you’ve ever had, and the price was competitive to other ice cream shops, telling another person would mean that you’re adding value to their lives. You’re giving them valuable information.
Why? Because you just found the most incredible ice cream shop, unparalleled in its taste, texture, and flavors, and you want them to know about it.
When they realize that you were correct, you become the bearer of value.
Same thing holds true for recommending any other person, place, or business.
So if you want to succeed, focus on value.
Even if you fail over and over again, as long as you have inherent value in whatever you’re doing, ultimately, over time, you will be victorious. It just won’t happen overnight. This is the perfect way to recover from failure.
Shift your focus to helping others
In order to recover from failure, we absolutely must shift our focus. When we have to shift our focus, not only away from negative emotions, but also away from ourselves.
We need to shift our focus to others and helping those in need by contributing our time, money, or energy to good causes. This shift of focus is so powerful that it moves the mind completely out of a state of lack.
When we focus on contribution and helping others, we’re sending a powerful signal to the mind. We’re telling it that we have way more than enough for ourselves, and we must begin to focus on others.
Even if we lack the resources to live the life we truly want to live, contributing to others can help turn the tide towards a future filled with abundance.
