One of our subscribers sent an email to us and asked “Mr. AOC, I have been wanted to ask you about how to talk to people in network marketing as this is the bane to my success in this business?”
Are you like her who really needs solution to how to talk to people in network marketing?
But I think the proper question should have been how to conquer the fear of talking to people about my network marketing business.
It could also be what are the simple ways to share my business with others
Or how do I prospect strangers in my network marketing business
Whichever way it is, what you need to do is you have to get over your fear of what people will think. They AREN’T really thinking much at all about what you are doing. (Sorry to break it to you this way!)
One thing people so often struggle with is what to say to people they know, people they meet and follow up with people they have already talked to.
How often has this happened to you?
Anyway, this post is all about answering the question how to talk to people in network marketing
When you call up a prospect, you obviously don’t want to hit right out of the gate with your business opportunity.
It’s always best to start off with the usual small talk, so you can ‘warm up’ the conversation. (How are the kids? How was your vacation? Is your mother-in-law still holed up in your spare bedroom?) However, as you move into talking about your business, the following points will make it easier to share about your business, and move to the next step.
HOW TO TALK TO PEOPLE IN NETWORK MARKETING
1. Focus on their interests not yours
One of the major reasons you have a fear of talking to people is that you are trying to be impressive vs letting the other person be impressive.
You might be thinking that you need to be the interesting person in the conversation, when in reality, the person you are talking to should be the person you are focused on.
A great book on people skills, how to win friends and influence people, talks about being interesting vs being interested.
This is a huge factor for overcoming your fear of talking to people.
When you are interested, vs being interesting you can shift from being a talker to being a listener.
Not only will this ease your fear of talking to people, but it will make them like you more as well.
2. Know your products in and out.
To sell talk to people about your network marketing business the right way, you have to know the products intimately.
For example, how do they work, why do they work, what’s the background on the product, who was it created by (and for)? Does the product have any alternative uses that you can sell to a different audience?
People buy things because they’re trying to solve some problem in their lives.
If you spend time really learning the products you sell and you’re able to tell people how these products can help make their lives better, you’re going to do great!
3. Don’t apologize
Inexperienced network marketers tend to apologize when sharing their business because they believe network marketing business is an imposition rather than people-relationship business
They feel like they are asking for a favor by asking their prospects to join them.
They don’t think they’re worth someone’s time so they apologize for asking for it
Apologizing makes you look like a novice. Stop it.
It showcases lack of professionalism and confidence
You don’t want to apologizing for trying out helping him or her to better his or her life.
4. Have Posture
When you are preparing and delivering your sentences, you must have posture.
What is posture?
Posture is the way you present yourself and what you’re saying with confidence and security.
This is communicating in a clear way and having confidence in what you’re saying.
You never want to meet somebody and you know, have them stand around and be like, well, um, I don’t know. Like I sell shampoo once in a while, like with my friends bla bla…
Make sure you are sure of yourself!
Project your words clearly, stand tall, and speak with confidence.
You have amazing products and you know people can benefit from them so act that way!
This will help people be attracted to you and what you do. Then they will want to learn more.
THIS IS HOW TO CONNECT WITH PEOPLE EASILY: how to connect with people is to friend them on Facebook. Don’t even worry about business cards. Find them online and follow them back. Then you both have a way to connect with each other. You can also airdrop them your contact information, message them and talk more.
Then make sure you ask them about their life too! Find out about what’s going on in their lives. You want to build real relationships with people.
