In this part 2 of the NETWORK MARKETING MYTHS series, we will be looking at network marketing myths that most people still believe in
Network Marketing Myths is the exact thing that stops people from joining this industry.
They don’t do their research before blaming the industry that it doesn’t work for whatever reason.
Many people perceives network marketing as being full of greedy snake oil salespeople and shysters.
But network marketing is by far the fastest growing industry in today’s economy.
THE COMMON NETWORK MARKETING MYTHS PART 2
1. NETWORK MARKETING DOESN’T WORK
In 2015, the Direct Selling Association, gave a report which says network marketing grossed $36.12 billion in retail sales in the United States.
Further, over 20 million people in the U.S. are involved in direct sales.
These numbers indicate that network marketing can work.
Success or failure has less to do with network marketing itself, and instead, is determined by the amount effort one puts into their business.
Many bloggers, eBayers, and other home business owners don’t do well or quit too, but you don’t hear people saying blogging and eBay don’t work.
When few people work the network marketing business like a hobby and nothing seems working… They’d go about saying, network marketing doesn’t work!
If you have this conception, it is a myth. Please delete it now!
Network marketing does works If you work at it!
2. NEED A BIG BUDGET TO GET STARTED.
If you are thinking like this…. It’s totally wrong!
That’s a huge misconception.
Network marketing is the business where you can get started with as little as #25,000, or even less.
I have been involved in a network marketing business that the start up capital was just #1,000.
I have done one whereby it was just #6,000
Moreover, there are lots of these network marketing businesses around today that all the start ups are just #5,000, #12,000, #9,000 etal
But you will still need your head and brain and to me, that costs nothing!
However, If you were to start your own traditional business, it would cost you thousands of dollars.
Or imagine buying a franchise.
You risk to spend all the money or you may get a loan, and then you’ll work as hell to break even, to make your money back.
In network marketing you don’t have to invest thousands of dollars, it’s pretty inexpensive, considering the opportunity that you get.
3. NETWORK MARKETING IS A PYRAMID SCHEME
Pyramid schemes are illegal and they should be because someone will always lose.
There are clear distinctions that separate pyramid schemes from network marketing.
Pyramid schemes are money games where there is NO product, or the product/service has little to no value.
Network marketing is a word of mouth method of marketing a business.
When people think network marketing is a pyramid scheme, it’s like thinking paid advertising is a pyramid scheme.
Pyramid schemes are not a method of marketing – they are an illegal activity involving deception and theft conducted by unethical companies or individuals. When it comes to avoiding pyramid schemes, you have the same situation as any other traditional business or investment offer on the planet, and that is to do your due diligence. There are a small percentage of bad eggs in every single industry or method of business.
In a network marketing business opportunity, you are paid based on the product/service volume that is sold – not the number of people you recruit to the opportunity.
If your organisation is big and lots of products are sold, then you are paid well. If your volumes are small, you are paid accordingly.
4. YOU HAVE TO TALK TO AND ALIENATE ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY
While many of your friends and family may be on the products, most of them are not necessarily to be in the business.
In the year 2015/16, my network marketing business wasn’t been built by the people I know, but from someone that starting taking the products or started the business who then introduced someone else, who then introduced someone else etc.
More importantly, there are so many ways to build a network marketing business, if you treat it like a real business.
For example, if you loved ice-cream and opened up an ice cream store, would you only approach your friends and family to become customers?
Or, would you talk to people in addition to your friends and family, try advertising, networking, strategic partnerships, online marketing – and many other smart and fun ways to build your business?
In fact, these days, instead of bugging your friends and family you could do marketing in a better way… The advanced way that works… The attraction marketing formula.
What is attraction marketing?
In attraction marketing, you are literally pulling prospects to you instead of having to go out and push the products and the business onto them.
Attraction marketing is basically the process of creating content (videos, blog posts, podcasts, training resources, etc.) and getting that content out in front of the right eyeballs.
Once you do that, you can literally have prospects COMING TO YOU ready to buy your products and join your business before you even speak to them.
Instead of you hunting them down and convincing them to do things, like buy products or join your business) you need to do 2 primary things: position yourself as an expert in your field and create content that solves problems in your niche market.
Once you can do that, it’s just a matter of get all the infrastructure into place and then plugging away at content creation and following up with prospects consistently.
So many people have said they can’t do this but I’d like to inform you that you can do it!
You are already in expert in your niche!
