One of the most pervasive myths in the world today is that we are entitled to an awesome life – that somehow, somewhere, someone (certainly not us) is responsible for filling our lives with continual happiness, exciting career options and blissful personal relationships simply because we exist.
But the real truth and the one lesson today’s post is based on is that there is only one person responsible for the quality of the life you live.
That person is you.
Bringing that mentality to your business, if you want to be successful, you have to take full responsibility for everything that takes place in the course of building up your business from the scratch to where you want it to be.
YOU HAVE TO GIVE UP ALL YOUR EXCUSES.
What I have observed times without number is that many of all failures come from people who have a habit of making excuses.
If you want to create the business of your dreams, then you are going to have to take full responsibility for your business.
You will have to give up all excuses why you haven’t gotten to where you want to be in your business.
You will have to stop blaming the outside circumstances, you will need to give up reasons why you can’t and why you haven’t gotten to where you want it be up till now, you are to take full ownership of your dreams…
YOU HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
The reality of it all is that you are responsible for everything that does or doesn’t happen to your business.
You need to take the position that it’s up to me to change my business and get it working.
You have to take the position that you have always had the power to make a difference, to get things right and to getting the desired result.
From this point, I want you to take full ownership of your business.
If something doesn’t work out as planned, you will ask yourself, ‘How did I create that? What did I say or not say? What did I do or not do to create this kind of result am getting? How did I get my prospect to act in that way? What do I need to do differently next time to get the result I want?
I came across one poet recently and it got me thinking even up till now. It reads;
You are the one who ate the junk food.
You are the one who didn’t say no!
You are the one who took the job.
You are the one who stayed in the job.
You are the one who chose to believe them.
You are the one who ignored your intuition.
You are the one who abandoned your dream.
You are the one who bought it.
You are the one who didn’t take care of it.
You are the one who decided you had to do it alone.
You are the one who trusted him.
You are the one who said yes to the dogs.
The meaning of the poet is that, if you are going to achieve the kind of success you desire in your business – you have to acknowledge the truth.
It is you who will take the necessary actions, think the kinds of thoughts that will create what you want, and make the choices that will get you to where you want to be.
You have to take full responsibility for your business.
You have to give up blaming.
You have to give up complaining.
The bottom line is that you are the one who is creating the way your business is now.
Don’t kid yourself. Be honest with yourself. Take full ownership of your business now.
