In today’s training, I want to share my top Network Marketing Tips for Beginners.
These are some simple and practical tips that will help any new and inexperienced network marketer get started right, right out the gate.
Most people struggle when trying something new, and for the Network Marketing Beginners it can seem a strange, often fearful path to navigate.
I hope that the following tips will help you on your journey.
1. EDUCATE YOURSELF!
I usually tell all of my new team mates that they should focus on educating themselves for the first couple of months after starting a new business.
This can be difficult for many people to hear, because they want to make money, and now!
I’m not saying you can’t earn while you learn, that’s not the case.
However, the only way that you will make big money in network marketing (or any business) is if you understand the story you’re telling yourself that can eventually become your roadblock to success.
Also, you want to understand what you are providing to your customers and over deliver.
How do you provide value? By educating yourself!
2. BE FOCUSED
As a network marketing beginner, you will need to focus on your network marketing business.
That means you only promote one network marketing company and only do one marketing strategy at a time.
You avoid shiny objects at all costs and the grass is greener nowhere even at that!
You don’t try to create multiple streams of income right away.
You don’t look at other business opportunities.
You don’t try 10 different ways to build your business.
You don’t listen to five different experts.
After you set up your daily action plan and goals, and do your initial training, you spend at least 1-2 hours EVERY DAY working on your business, following the strategy and plan you have created.
3. KNOW ALL YOUR UP-LINE
You will be joining a network run by other marketers.
They will be your sponsors or up-line.
You need to talk to them and find out everything related to the product or service you are promoting.
Sometimes they are helpful and sometimes they are not.
However in both cases you have to deal with them.
Talk to everybody in your network.
If your immediate up-line are not helpful, keep going higher and higher up-line until you get the help you need.
4. KNOW THE PRODUCTS OR SERVICE INSIDE AND OUT
To sell well, you have to know the products or service you are promoting intimately.
For example, how do they work, why do they work, what’s the background on the product, who was it created for?
Does the product have any alternative uses that you can sell to a different audience?
People buy things because they’re trying to solve some problem in their lives.
If you spend time really learning the products you sell and you’re able to tell people how these products can help make their lives better, you’re going to do great!
5. PLAN OUT YOUR TIME
Your most precious asset is time.
The most common excuse you will hear from people about not doing the business is lack of time.
The truth is we all have time for things that are important to us.
If your business isn’t a top priority, it will never get built.
You have to plan out your time every day.
What I suggest you do every Sunday night is plan out the upcoming week.
Determine what days you will work the business, at what time, and what activities you will do during that time.
Write it down in your day planner and have enough discipline to execute it.
6. EXPAND YOUR NETWORK
To be successful, you absolutely must branch out beyond friends and family.
It’s easy to start out there, but it will soon become a tapped market and you’ll need to move on.
Not to mention, you can easily put people off by trying to sell them the same products over and over.
Learn how social media marketing works, study the best practices, and show up consistently.
Build an audience of people that are hungry to buy what you’re selling!
This is where network marketing and traditional marketing overlap.
There’s nothing in these strategies that you can’t use to be successful as a network marketer and you should be trying everything you can to see what works!
7. YOU NEED BOUNDARIES
There’s a good chance you’re working a full time job or caring for your family full time, which means you’re running your network marketing business in the “in between moments” like during naptime, after the kids go to bed, and on the weekends.
This can very quickly wear on you and it can feel like you have no time to yourself.
You absolutely need to set boundaries or you’re going to get burned out before you ever discover your true potential.
What does this look like?
Maybe you limit yourself to spending one weeknight and one weekend morning on your business.
Sure, there will be exceptions, but you need to schedule in time where you’re not in “business mode” so you can enjoy hobbies, self care, and of course, your loved ones without your mind being elsewhere.
Starting your network marketing business off on the right foot is so important if you want to achieve big dreams and make an income that you can use to make your life better.
8. SET A MINIMUM OF TWO YEAR COMMITMENT
It’s almost a mantra that “Rome was not built in a day.”
I am of the notion that deep down you know that.
You have to have realistic expectations about growing a successful business of any kind.
Typically, the goal of your first year in business is to survive.
It’s probably going to take you a year or two to earn any type of worthwhile income with your business.
Don’t let that stop you though.
This is NOT a JOB.
This is a business.
You are building equity, an asset, not just income.
You have to give yourself a fair chance to succeed.
Anything less than two years is not a fair chance.
9. INVEST IN YOUR BUSINESS EDUCATION
You will need to plugged into your sponsors’ training system.
Listen to tapes or CDs in your car when you drive to work every day.
Read every day.
This is business… Get serious!
Attend local training events and meetings.
Be a student of your business and learn everything you can about your products, the company, and the industry.
Learn something new every day.
10. CONSISTENCY WILL MAKE YOU RANK UP FASTER.
This is perhaps the biggest area that Network Marketing Beginners mess up with.
You cannot work your business one day a week and expect much to happen.
You should work your business minimum 1-2 hours a day, on the money producing activities, every day, at least six days a week, for your first two years.
If the business is important to you, you will find a way to make this happen.
If not, you will find an excuse why you can’t do it.
The more consistent you are the better things will go.
Being consistent is the only most important key to success in today’s tips!
