LET US TALK ABOUT MONEY MYTHS.
Stop being a victim, you’ll hear people say, ‘Money won’t bring happiness.’ The earning and possession of money has brought a lot more happiness than poverty has. Money is a warm home and healthy children; it’s birthday presents and a college education; it’s a trip abroad and the means to help older people and the less fortunate (Earl Nightingale)
Few days ago, we started talking about money, where we learnt that money is neither good nor bad; money is neutral. Money is just a tool; a tool for getting things done. Money can be used destructively or constructively. Anybody can make money; it is neither selective nor discriminatory and that we should dispel those money myths.
We also commented on How will you make money? How does the rich make their money? (Read Part 2)
Today, we’ll look at money and happiness. You’ll hear people say, “money won’t bring happiness.” Is it true.
Check this out, assuming you’re a young lad of nine years old and your family drives by a mansion. You loved the building and expressed your feelings about the mansion to your parents and your mother said to you that people who live in big houses like that aren’t happy. The odds are quite good that you will be infected with the ‘money doesn’t buy happiness’ money myths unconsciously on your mind. It stays on your mind for the rest of your life, but you don’t even know it was programmed on your mind.
I will like us to understand the relationship between money and happiness that they are not really the same thing. As said in the ‘Rules of Wealth’ by Richard Templar, he said, ‘Too little money can make you miserable, too much money can make you miserable, too much stuff can make you miserable and not having enough money can make you miserable.’ He further said, ‘This is a common mistake people make. You can be poor and happy. You can be rich and happy. You can also be either poor or rich and miserable.’ If people are making this mistake, it isn’t going to be one you make.
Grant Cardone has something to say about the ‘money can’t buy you happiness’ money myths: ‘I never met a rich person that was trying to get happy while they were trying to get rich…they have nothing to do with one another. In fact, my entire life I have not been seeking happiness. I have been seeking a meaningful life where I am free to do what I want to do and what I love most. There’s no way money can make you happy or unhappy…it’s just money. If you are a wanker, then you’ll be a wanker with or without money. If you’re going to be unhappy, don’t be broke too.’
If you’re going to be unhappy, don’t be broke too! What does that mean? How does it sound to you? Think about it. Those money myths are traps to poverty victimhood. Some will even say money and riches are vanity, then, if riches and money are vanity, what is poverty? Don’t give those money myths chances again.
In reality, this is what is exactly holding many people back and causing them pains and lead them to the state of dumbness, poverty and lack. I used to be one of those in this situation until I took responsibility of my life. Though, I’ve not yet gotten to the pinnacle of my dreams and ambitions, but soon, I will get there because am already on the path to it and that’s why we at www.naijamarketingpro.com wishes to get there with many people as long as they are ready to follow the paths and nothing can stop me and you until we stop ourselves.
