1. Know Your Target Market
You MUST understand your audience best suited for your network marketing business opportunity.
You must be in touch with their needs, there inner most desires for change.
You must know what drives them to want to better their life.
Knowing the people that would like to lead a different, more satisfying life will help you succeed in network marketing.
Do you feel like you’ve had a bad week, a month, or even a year?
That’s something every single successful person has dealt with in this industry.
But do you hear anyone complain about it, once they’re out of the woods? No.
Because every struggle makes for an inspiring story.
So embrace the suck!
There’s nothing wrong with it.
You’ll deal with disappointment, people will give up on you, even you will give up on yourself sometimes.
Resilience is all about bouncing back up again, and in the end, it will all make sense! Be bigger than your excuse and tough it out!
3. Be Genuine and Ethical
One reason why network marketing gets a bad rap is that many representatives use hype and sometimes deception to lure in new recruits.
This leads many to believe that the network marketing companies themselves encourage this behavior when in truth, they don’t.
Legitimate network marketing companies want you to be honest in your dealings with customers and potential recruits.
If you love your product, your enthusiasm is enough to promote it.
Just make sure you’re not over-the-top or making exaggerated or false claims.
Good business conduct will ensure that your customers and recruits don’t feel duped, and as a result, will stick with you.
4. Decide to Build as a Network Marketing Professional
Our industry is only bad if you’re looking to get rich quick or you have unrealistic expectations about what it takes to build a successful business.
Being realistic, there is no such thing as get rich quick in ANY legitimate business.
Most businesses in the real world take a couple of years just to get profitable, and three to five or more years to build a solid and stable income.
Our industry is simple, but it’s not easy.
There are three categories of people in Network Marketing:
Posers – treat this profession as a lottery ticket. They’re hoping to hit it big with as little effort as possible
Amateurs – focus on different things like one lucky sign-up, trying to get perfect timing, also perfect positioning and shortcuts
Professionals – this is a person who is an expert at the skills required to build a large and successful Network Marketing organization
Professional athletes and doctors will devote endless hours to preparing to be the best in what they do but often when they join Network Marketing, they won’t give a day’s worth of effort to learning our skills.
When I made the decision to Go Professional, everything changed for me.
I stopped focusing on luck, timing, positioning, and shortcuts.
I even stopped focusing on the money.
My world changed when I started focusing on the skills and made the commitment to practice them with authenticity and keep practicing until I mastered them.
5. Don’t Bug Your Friends and Family
Nothing will annoy your family and cost you friends more than constantly pestering them about your business.
There’s nothing wrong with letting them know what you’re doing and seeing if they have an interest, but if the answer is “no,” let it go.
Many companies suggest making a list of 50-100 people you know, and while that’s not wrong, you should consider that most successful Network Marketers have very few people from their original list of 50-100 people in their business.
In most cases, friends and family who are in the business often come AFTER seeing the Network Marketer’s success.
To be successful in your Network Marketing Business, this comes from treating it like any other business, in which you focus on the people who want what you have to offer.
That means deciding who the target market is for your products/services, as well as the business opportunity.
